Hello Fellow '88 Grads!

It is hard to believe that it has already come and gone, but I had a great time at the reunion.  It was great to see so many familiar faces and reconnect with old (no pun intended) friends.  I was fortunate to get re-acquainted with a few of you while planning the reunion and I feel very fortunate to have you all in my life again - you guys are the BEST! (again, no pun intended (Amy)).

I look forward to seeing you all again at the 25th reunion (if not before then).

Crooks Road exit is closed (Southbound is open). Alternate Route -- You can exit at
Big Beaver Road West and take to Crooks Road; go North on Crooks Road a couple miles

First, Congratulations on everyone putting together this reunion!  Amy, you have always been the "Best".  Paul Kline here.  Now retired from public school teaching but still working with students in the music field.  It would be fun to see my students as adults and wondered if other teachers have ever attended or asked to attend a reunion.  Frank and Eva let me know about the event so I checked out the website.  I plan to be at Frank's book signing earlier in the day, so I thought I would pose the question.  I am currently living in Grand Rapids, still married (35 years), and have two terrific adult children both in education.  (I tried to talk them out of it).  My son, Ian, is just recently married, living and teaching in Illinois with Valerie, an English teacher (talk about hard-job teaching!).  My daughter Leigha, is looking for her first teaching job in middle school science.  If the reunion does not work out, email contact is possible at pdksaxman@comcast.net.  Thanks for the message!

The Pre-Reunion Mixer will be held on Friday, 9/26 at the Black Lotus Brewing Company, 1 East 14 Mile Road, Clawson, MI (across from Kim Dao's soon-to-open Da Nang Resturant). Come join the fun any time after 7:30pm. CASH BAR (no freebies here - sorry!), and snacks (chips, pretzels, etc.) will be served. BLBC does offer its own menu as well. We will be adding a list of missing classmates to the website very soon. ANYONE who has not registered as a Classmate will be considered "missing". We know there are some of you out there who have visited this website, but have yet to register. Registering doesn't obligate you to anything. It only lets us know that you are aware of the reunion. In order to cut down on costs, and since we know that MOST graduates are no longer at the addresses they were when we were in high school, we are not planning on sending out any mailers. We are relying solely on word of mouth, this website, our myspace page, classmates.com, and a few other forms of advertisement. So, if you haven't already, won't you please take a moment to register. It will, literally, only take you 2 minutes to do so. Your committee would appreciate your doing so. :)

OK -- on to the important stuff!!!  A confirmed date of 9/27/08 has been set for the reunion, with a casual mixer event to happen on 9/26/08.  We will confirm the location and other details at the next meeting.  However, you are free to begin RSVPing now!  The price will be $90 per person, with an early bird price of $80 per person if you RSVP prior to 4/1/2008.

The next committee meeting will be Friday, 12/7/08 at 7:30pm -- once again at Heather (Morway) Pastorino's house.  Thanks again Heather!  We appreciate you opening your home to us.
